Question: How do I install a vampire plug?

Answer: Installing our SPT-1 and SPT-2 vampire plugs are very simple. Please Click here for instructional video.

Question: Can I use these to fix a stringer I currently have?

Answer:  Yes you can, but in many cases it's better to purchase a new strand as sometimes fixing the plug does not fix the stringer.

Question: What is the difference between SPT-1 (8-amp) and SPT-2 (10-amp)?

Answer: The 10-amp SPT-2 wire has more insulation allowing for higher amperage and longer runs of bulbs. This will make the cord slightly thicker.

Question: Can I use SPT-1 plugs on SPT-2 wire and vice versa?

Answer: No, because the wire thickness is different, this does not work well. We recommend ensuring your plugs, sockets, and wire are all the same; either SPT-1 or SPT-2.
