How to Build a Smart Yard
One App for Your Roofline, Trees, and Walkways

Picture this: it's game day, and with a few taps on your phone your roofline, your trees, and the walkway to your front door all switch to your team's colors. When the neighbors head home, you tap once more and everything fades back to a warm, classic white. No ladders, no rewiring, no digging out boxes of lights from the garage.
That's the idea behind the Novelty Lights Smart Series, our new smart outdoor lighting category. Every light in the series connects to the same free smart app and works with Alexa and Google Assistant, so your whole yard runs as one system. Install once, and change the mood whenever you like.
Here's how to build it, layer by layer.
What Makes These Lights "Smart"?
All Smart Series products connect over your home's WiFi to one free app (powered by Tuya, one of the most widely used smart home platforms in the world). From one screen you can:

And about that warm white: every light in the Smart Series has dedicated warm white diodes. Many RGB lights skip the white diode and blend red, green, and blue to fake it, which produces a washed-out, slightly off white. Dedicated diodes give you the rich 3000K glow you expect from classic landscape lighting.
Every kit also includes a remote, so anyone in the house can change the lights without opening the app.
Outline Your Roofline with Permanent Eve Lights

Start at the top. Permanent outdoor eve lights install under your eaves and stay up year-round, so holiday lighting stops being an annual ladder ritual. The 50 ft kit includes 36 LED nodes on a discreet white wire, each one individually controllable, with both vivid RGB color and tunable white. They're IP68 rated, built to shrug off rain, snow, and everything in between.
Run warm white for everyday curb appeal, then switch to orange for Halloween, red and green for Christmas, or your team's colors for kickoff.
Uplight Your Trees and Walls with Smart Spot Lights

Next, add drama at eye level. Smart spot lights stake into the ground and cast focused beams up into trees, shrubs, and architectural features. You have two options here:
Both include ground stakes and surface mounts, so you can stake them in soil or mount them on decks and hardscapes. And both can link to a second set end-to-end for longer runs.
Line Your Walkways with Smart Ground Lights

The newest addition to the Smart Series fills in the final layer: the ground itself. Smart ground lights are slim pucks, just 1.75" wide and 0.75" tall, that hug the ground along walkways, driveways, garden beds, decks, and patios. No snagged mower decks, no stubbed toes.
One 15-light kit covers 52 ft, enough for most front walkways in a single run, and each light can display its own color. Line the path in warm white for everyday elegance, or run a color chase down the walkway when it's time to celebrate. Like the rest of the series, they're IP65 weatherproof and run on safe low voltage power.
Bring It All Together in One App
Here's where the ecosystem pays off. Because every layer speaks to the same app, you're not juggling three remotes and two apps from different brands. Group your lights into rooms or zones, build one "Holiday" scene that sets the roofline, trees, and walkway together, and schedule the whole yard to light up at dusk.
PLAN BEFORE YOU BUY
Measure first. Note your roofline length, walkway length, and how many trees or features you want to uplight, then compare against each kit's total length.
Count your outlets. Each kit plugs into a standard outdoor outlet and converts to safe low voltage. Ground light kits each need their own outlet, but every kit you add still joins the same app.
Think in seasons. These lights are built for year-round outdoor use, so plan a setup you'll enjoy in December and July alike.
Start With One Layer, Grow Into a Whole Yard

You don't need to build the whole ecosystem in a weekend. Plenty of customers start with a single walkway kit or one set of spot lights, fall in love with the app control, and add a layer each season. Because everything connects to the same app, your system grows with you.
One App. One Ecosystem. Your Whole Yard.
